Fluconazole has demonstrated clinical efficacy in treating various fungal infections in human subjects. In a prospective clinical trial of 17 evaluable patients with deep-seated fungal infections, clinical cure or improvement was achieved in 82% of cases, with particularly strong effectiveness against candidal infections. The medication has been shown to be effective in preventing or suppressing candidiasis in both HIV-negative and HIV-positive populations. Research indicates that fluconazole has a favorable safety profile with no serious adverse effects documented in clinical trials of healthy subjects.
